Planet Rock Premium is our new subscription service that gives you more control of live radio than ever before. Just one of the exclusive Planet Rock Premium features is the option to skip up to six tracks per hour when listening to live radio.

This feature is available on the Planet Rock Web Player, the Planet Rock App and is now, in a radio first, available on Amazon Alexa Smart Speakers. This is a revolutionary feature for UK radio - the first of its kind across any smart speaker for any UK radio station!

How do I skip tracks on Amazon Alexa?

1) Login to Alexa with your Premium account and listen to the main station for Planet Rock, Scala Radio, Kerrang! Radio, Absolute, Magic Radio, KISS, Greatest Hits Radio and Jazz FM.

2) You can say: "Alexa, skip" or "Alexa, next". You don't need to mention the station name as you're already listening.

3) You can skip up to six times per listening hour.

4) Alexa Skip applies only to the main stations on Planet Rock, Scala Radio, Kerrang! Radio, Absolute, Magic Radio, KISS, Greatest Hits Radio and Jazz FM, Absolute Radio and KISS and not the Premium only stations and special shows.

Where can I skip tracks?

With Premium you can skip up to six tracks when listening live or on our online stations if listening in the Web Player or App, and you can skip the main station when listening with Alexa.

How do I skip tracks on the Web Player and App?

Simply click the skip button on the Web Player or App.

How do I see how many skips I have left?

The number of skips remaining will appear on the now playing bar, as a small number above the play button. On Alexa it will tell you when you have reached your limit.

How many tracks can I skip?

You can skip up to six tracks per hour on the Web Player, App and Amazon Alexa.

When does my Skip function reset?

Your skips reset an hour after you first started listening.

Can I skip tracks with Google, Apple and Sonos speakers?

Currently, the skip function does not work when using these devices.

Once you sign in to your Planet Rock Account, if you are a Premium user, your Premium features will appear.

Listening on the App

Download the Planet Rock App and when you sign in your Premium features will automatically appear. You may have to update your App to the latest version.

Listening on Smart Speakers

Amazon Alexa
To get access to no ad-breaks and exclusive online stations, you need to link your Premium account to your Alexa device. Please note, you can't skip tracks using Alexa but can on our webplayer and the Planet Rock App. Find out more about linking your account with Alexa.

Google
Google speaker devices do not have a skill that supports ad-free streams and Premium only stations. However, you can Cast from mobile apps to get access. To do this you can follow this help guide: Using Chromecast, Bluetooth or Airplay.

Apple
Apple speaker devices do not have a skill that supports streams and Premium only stations. However, you can AirPlay from mobile apps to get access. To do this you can follow this help guide: Using Chromecast, Bluetooth or Airplay.

Sonos
To access Premium stations on your Sonos speaker devices open the Sonos app and go to the settings tab. Simply tap on the 'services and voice' option and select the Planet Radio music service. Finally tap on 'reauthorise account' and follow the steps to sign in. You can also follow the steps provided by Sonos here.

How much does Planet Rock Premium cost?

When you upgrade to Premium, you will automatically get a 30 day free trial to explore before you get billed. Premium costs £3.99 a month and gives you access to exclusive features and content on Planet Rock, Kerrang! Radio, Scala Radio, Jazz FM, Absolute Radio, Magic Radio, Greatest Hits Radio and KISS.

There are two ways to subscribe to Premium:

1) Through our website - You can visit our website and purchase Premium at www.planetradio.co.uk/premium

2) Through our App - You can also subscribe to Premium through the Planet Rock App.

Regardless of where you subscribe you will have access to Premium features across all platforms where you use your Planet Rock account.

What happens after I upgrade?

You will get an email confirming that you have just upgraded to Premium and that you now have a 30 day free trial before you get billed to explore Premium. You'll also get access to Premium for Kerrang! Radio, Jazz FM, Absolute, KISS, Magic Radio, Greatest Hits Radio and Scala Radio included in the cost.
