ZZ Top postpone remaining 2017 tour dates as Dusty Hill battles ‘tummy ailment’
ZZ Top have postponed all of their upcoming 2017 shows due to bassist Dusty Hill’s ill health.
The rock icons had 16 shows left to play on the North American leg of The Tonnage Tour this autumn plus a further date in Walliston, Australia on 18th November, however, in an official statement, the band say they won’t be going ahead with the shows as Dusty is “addressing a tummy ailment.”
Fortunately the Houston trio are planning to reschedule the dates for 2018 ahead of their 50th anniversary celebrations in 2019.

The full post reads: “Upcoming scheduled dates on ZZ Top’s current tour are temporarily suspended and are arranged for immediate rescheduling. ZZ’s cornerstone bass guitarist, Mr. Dusty Hill, is addressing a tummy ailment and is following a directive to lay low for the next few weeks. Whew!
“The band rocks 2018 and to then blow it out in 2019 as they celebrate a big “50”…! Once-in-a-millennium.”
Prolific live performers, ZZ Top have already performed 88 shows in 2017 so far including dates in Manchester, Glasgow and Ramblin’ Man Fair over the summer.
Their last studio album ‘La Futura’ was released in September 2012 and since then they’ve released the greatest hits album ‘The Very Baddest’ in 2014 and live record ‘Tonite at Midnight: Live Greatest Hits from Around the World’ last September.
