Zombies To Celebrate 50th With New Album

Band have big plans for momentous occasion next year

The Zombies will celebrate their 50th anniversary next year with a special concert and a brand new studio album.

Classic Rock Magazine spoke to Rod Argent about the band’s plans and he reveals that they have big plans for 2011.

"Well, it’s actually the anniversary of our first rehearsal,” joked keyboard player/vocalist Rod Argent. "But one of the things we’ll do is release a new studio album. We’re about two-thirds of the way through recording it now – and I have to say it’s sounding really good.”

"We hope to play Shepherd’s Bush Empire in May, although that’s not totally confirmed. Colin (Blunstone, vocals) and I hope that our original bassist Chris White and drummer Hugh Grundy will join us on stage.” Paul Atkinson, the band’s first guitarist, died in 2004.
