Zakk Wylde says he’d record a new album with Ozzy Osbourne
Set to reunite with Ozzy Osbourne on tour this summer, Zakk Wylde has now said he’d be open to recording a new album with his good friend.
Alongside bassist Rob ‘Blasko’ Nicholson, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman, Zakk is performing four US festival shows with Ozzy in July and August marking the thirtieth anniversary of when they first collaborated together.
In an interview with the Chicago Tribune ahead of Ozzy’s show at Chicago Open Air, Zakk was asked what the chances are of playing on the Black Sabbath legend’s new album.
The Zakk Sabbath singer commented: "My relationship with Ozzy and Mrs. O (Sharon Osbourne) is if they call me up and say, 'Bring eggs and milk over and clean the dog run,' I do it.
“If Oz wants to do another record, then we knock it out. We haven't spoken yet about a record. Basically, right now it's about the shows."
Ozzy has made no secret of the fact he’d like to record a new album, telling Sirius XM last November: "I've been in the process of writing with Billy Morrison and Steve Stevens from (Billy Idol's band).
"He's not gonna be in my band. ... I said I've got some ideas and we worked it out."
In the same interview, he said that one song has the provision title of ‘Crack Cocaine.’
Zakk Wylde has had four stints in Ozzy’s band since 1987 and contributed to the albums ‘No Rest For The Wicked’, ‘No More Tears’, ‘Ozzmosis’, ‘Down To Earth’, ‘Under Cover’ and ‘Black Rain’.
