Y&T Classic Becomes iPhone App

The new app for iPad and iPhone tells the story of how Black Tiger was made – in singer and lead guitarist Dave Meniketti’s own words. The app is available now in the iTunes store:

The app includes extensive audio of Meniketti describing how Black Tiger was recorded (at Ridge Farm studio in England) – including his comments on the album’s tracks and on touring with AC/DC in 1982. 

The app has lots of images from 1982 – including photos of the Black Tiger recording sessions from Meniketti’s personal collection. 

The app’s author is Canadian rock and metal writer Martin Popoff, who draws on three recorded interviews he did with Meniketti. Popoff also penned a new review of Black Tiger for the app, and an essay in which he argues that Y&T were a NWOBHM band who, through no fault of their own, happened to be from San Francisco.
