Wilko Johnson announces October UK tour

Wilko Johnson has announced a string of UK dates - tickets for which are available to Planet Rock listeners from 9am on Wednesday 13th April.

Following his run of shows with Joanne Shaw Taylor this month, Wilko will play six headline shows this October.

The new tour dates are as follows:

OCTOBER 2016

6TH - PARR HALL, WARRINGTON
7TH - CITY HALL, SHEFFIELD
8TH - QUEENS HALL, EDINBURGH
13TH - CITY HALL, SALISBURY
14TH - CORN EXCHANGE, CAMBRIDGE
15TH - TOWN HALL, BIRMINGHAM

Despite being diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer in 2012, Wilko Johnson has not let that get in the way. Grabbing life by the horns he said in a recent interview "Man, there’s nothing like being told you’re dying to make you feel alive." He continued to perform live, recorded an album with Roger Daltrey, and underwent life-saving surgery in 2014, declaring himself free of cancer in October of that year.

In the 1970s, Wilko enjoyed success as part of Dr. Feelgood, later going on to form his own band, The Wilko Johnson Band.

The original punk rocker will be joined on the October tour by 17-year-old Aaron Keylock who already has a number of festival performances under his belt, including Download and Bloodstock.

Tickets for the tour will be available in a Planet Rock Presale from 9am on Wednesday 13th April via Planet Rock Tickets, up to 48 hours before general release!
