Last month, When Rivers Meet were crowned Best New Band at Planet Rock’s annual awards ceremony The Rocks. Just like all the awards at The Rocks, the Best New Band gong was voted for by the fans themselves.
Earlier this year, the duo became the first band to win four UK Blues Awards - Best Blues Album Of The Year, Blues Band Of The Year, Emerging Blues Artist Of The Year, and Most Inspirational Online Performance Of The Year.
Lead singer, mandolin and fiddle player Grace Bond says: “We’re totally blown away to have won all these awards.
“We started playing music together over ten years ago. When we started out, we didn’t really know what direction we were going in until two years ago when we realised that blues rock was not only the music we listen to the most, but it’s also the music we love the most.”
When Rivers Meet’s acclaimed debut album ‘We Fly Free’ was released in November 2020, and Grace and Aaron have already completed work on the follow-up, which they will release in autumn 2021.
