In an interview with Shortlist magazine Weller said that he wasn't inspired by the recent spate of reunions to think about reforming the influential three-piece.

"Money talks, doesn't it?" he replied when asked why he thought band reunions were so popular. "Hopefully I'll never be that skint, mate."

He also slated the idea of playing "classic album" shows: "I'm going to go out and play a classic album next year, but it'll be my f***ing new one. Not one from 20 years ago."
