Wayward Sons announce November 2021 tour & premiere new song

Wayward Sons have announced a November 2021 UK & Ireland tour; their first headline jaunt on these shores in three years.

The quintet - led by Planet Rock’s very own Toby Jepson (vocals/guitar) alongside Sam Wood (guitar), Nic Wastell (bass), Dave Kemp (keys) and Phil Martini (drums) - will play a total of 10 shows next autumn.

The trek opens at Dublin Opium on Saturday 6th November and calls in at Belfast, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Nottingham, Bristol and London before concluding at Wolverhampton KK’s Steel Mill on Thursday 18th November 2021.

Wayward Sons' UK tour follows their triumphant headline slot at Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum in September of this year.

Tickets to Wayward Sons' 2021 tour (except Dublin and Belfast) go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Wednesday 16th December.

Wayward Sons’ tour announcement coincides with the release of their new song ‘Even Up The Score’ and its accompanying music video.

Commenting on Wayward Sons’ first new material since their second studio album ‘The Truth Ain't What It Used To Be’ in October 2019, Toby Jepson says: “Even Up The Score is asking the question: ‘do you know yourself?’, and by extension, 'are you aware of the consequences your words and actions have?'

“So much of modernity is now ruled by the soundbite, the one line and the knee jerk reaction. We all hide behind screens and believe we have a right to say anything we want no matter whether backed up by truth or not, or how much it may hurt or discredit, often without evidence.

“The song challenges the listener to take a step back, a breath and to think before you speak or act - to draw back from vitriol, from hate and ill-informed judgement and find an EVEN KEEL, a more level place to view the world and others. Before we decide we are right, shouldn't we be willing to consider that we may be wrong?

“In a world of desperate imbalance, it is a choice to add to it or address our own imperfections and prejudices.”

The ‘Even Up The Score’ video is filmed in stark black-and-white and fuses animation with footage of Wayward Sons belting out the track.

Wayward Sons are currently hard at work on their third studio album, which they will release in 2021.
