WATCH: Roger Glover has a message about Deep Purple’s 20th studio album

Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover has released a video message updating fans on the band’s fervently awaited new album.

Published 21st Oct 2016

In the brief one-minute clip, Glover says their 20th studio album was recorded in Nashville with Bob Ezrin back in February and the mixes were finally done “a couple of months ago.”

Now completely finished, the band are currently in Hamburg for the first playback to record label chiefs and Glover admits they’re “very excited” about the coming months.

Although Ian Gillan said last month the follow-up to 2013’s acclaimed ‘Now What?!’ had a tentative release date of February, Roger now says they’re eyeing up an “early spring” release.

He also joked: “We haven’t got a title yet, we’re still arguing about that as we do with everything.”

As Ian Gillan said, Deep Purple plan to “be on the road for two years as we normally are” once the album sees the light of day.
