Part of their Moving On! orchestral tour, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and co. played a career-spanning 24-song set at Wembley Stadium that opened with ‘Overture’ and wrapped up with ‘Baba O'Riley’.

10 songs into the rapturously received show, The Who played a track seemingly entitled ‘Hero Ground Zero’ that’s expected to feature on their first studio album in 13 years.

Pete Townshend revealed in January he had laid down 15 demos for the follow-up to 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’ at five different studios around the UK, and it’s tentatively due for release later this year.

Having earlier performed a special guest set, which included a cover of ‘Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ with Glen Hansard, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder guested with The Who on a version of the Quadrophenia classic ‘The Punk and the Godfather’.

A huge Who aficionado, speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, Vedder said of Quadrophenia: “It saved my life. It was something I could catch, because for some reason it seemed like I could not relate to anyone in the world.

“With no one in my school and certainly with no one in my house, and all of a sudden, this London guy named Pete came in who knew everything that was going on in my life.”
