WATCH: New trailer for Bruce Dickinson 'Scream For Me Sarajevo' film premieres
An official trailer has debuted online for the ‘Scream For Me Sarajevo’ film about Bruce Dickinson’s fabled concert during the height of the Bosnian War.
With Sarajevo under heavy bombardment, Bruce and his band flouted official safety advice to travel to the city and perform a legendary concert at the Bosnian Culture Centre (BKC) in 1994.
The purpose of the trip was to tell the citizens of Sarajevo they weren’t forgotten despite being cut off from the rest of the world.
Written by Jasenko Pasic and directed by Tarik Hodzic, ‘Scream For Me Sarajevo’ was premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival last August and is now reportedly being primed for a commercial release in 2017.
Pasic said of the film: "I got the idea for the film one night when I was reading the story of Chris Dale about the concert of Bruce Dickinson that was held in 1994 in Sarajevo. Then I started the search for the people who were at the BKC that night and that story resulted in the film.
“Tatjana Bonny, Alex Elena, Tarik Hodzic and Adnan Cuhara are the people who created this film with me, which will show all the cruelty and the horror of the siege of Sarajevo, and that the people lived normally in those circumstances. 'Scream For Me Sarajevo' is a film about life."
As well as recounting his memories of the concert and the perilous journey to Sarajevo over two decades ago, the film also sees Bruce travel to the city once again and visit various sites including BKC, Tunnel of Hope and the Kovači cemetery.
