WATCH: Metallica release new song and video - 'Moth Into Flame'

The San Franciscans get dark with their latest tune...

A few weeks since first single 'Hardwired', Metallica have revealed the second song from 'Hardwired... To Self Destruct'.

Directed by Muse's videographer Tom Kirk, the video features the band performing on a dark set, surrounded by light bulbs, drawing the attention of a swarm of moths.

Watch the official video below:

Originally unveiled on Howard Stern's radio show in the US, the lyrics are laced with James Hetfield's trademark dark worldview.

Lines like "Infamy/ All for publicity / Destruction going viral" and "The vultures feast around you still / Overdose on shame and insecurity / If one won’t do that fistful will", show that Papa Het has a distinctly cynical opinion of the modern showbiz machine.

Last week, Metallica revealed that they were completely changing the structure of the third CD of the 'Hardwired... To Self Destruct' Deluxe Edition from a 'Riff Origins' disc, to a collection of covers and live tracks.
