Watch Metallica perform ‘Master of Puppets’ at Roskilde Festival in July 1986
Ahead of the remastered re-release of ‘Master of Puppets’ on Friday (10th November), Metallica have shared another musical gem from the Deluxe Box Set.
The metal legends have unleashed footage of their performance of ‘Master of Puppets’ at Roskilde Festival in Denmark on Sunday 6th July 1986 - two-and-a-half months before the late-great Cliff Burton died in Sweden.
Filmed by a fan in the audience, the footage arguably surpasses the quality captured by modern day smartphones and it perfectly captures the charged energy of Metallica’s mid-eighties performances.

Costing a whopping £149.99, the limited edition deluxe numbered box set of Master of Puppets includes three vinyl records (with a MP3 Download Card), ten CDs, two DVDs, one cassette, a hardcover book including never-before-seen photos, a folder containing handwritten lyrics, a set of six buttons and a "Damage, Inc." lithograph.
Ever since the box set was announced in the late summer, Metallica have been drip-feeding fans highlights from some of the expanded CDs and DVDs.

Having finished the most recent European leg of their WorldWired Tour in Belgium last week, Metallica play The Band Together Bay Area benefit concert at San Francisco’s AT&T Park on Thursday (9th November) alongside G-Eazy, Rancid, Dave Matthews, Dead & Company and Raphael Saadiq.
Proceeds from the show will go towards raising funds for those affected by the recent wildfires in California that claimed 42 lives and destroyed thousands of homes and buildings. Metallica's entire performance will be streamed on their YouTube channel and Facebook page
