Watch Metallica perform 'Harvester of Sorrow' at Monsters of Rock in 1991
Metallica have shared video footage of their performance of ‘Harvester of Sorrow’ at Monsters of Rock, Donington Park in 1991.
Filmed on 17th August 1991 during their blistering set at the legendary Castle Donington festival, the video captures Metallica in their imperious live glory.
Metallica shared a bill at the English Monsters of Rock in 1991 with Mötley Crüe, Queensrÿche, The Black Crowes and blockbuster headliners AC/DC.
In the build-up to the expansive 30th anniversary reissue of ‘… And Justice for All' on Friday 2nd November, Metallica are releasing a live video for each song on the album.
They kicked off proceedings last week with ‘Blackened’ filmed at Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, California, which you can watch here:
Remastered for the most advanced sound quality overseen by Greg Fidelman, the ‘…And Justice For All’ reissue will be available physically as a Standard Double 180 gram LP, Standard CD, 3 CD Expanded Edition, Cassette, Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set and digitally as a Standard album (available to stream and download), an Expanded Edition (available for download only), and a Digital Deluxe Box Set (available for streaming and download).
The Expanded Edition will include previously unreleased demos, rough mixes, previously unreleased live tracks, and an expanded booklet of never-before-seen Ross Halfin photos.
Costing £155.99, the one-pressing-only Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set will include the remastered double 180g LP, a “One” picture disc, 3 LPs featuring their iconic performance from Seattle in 1989 remixed by Greg Fidelman, 11 CDs, 4 DVDs, a set of four patches, a Pushead print, a tour laminate, lyric sheets, a download card for all material in the set, and a deluxe 120-page book with never-before-seen photos and never-before-told stories from the people who were there.
Originally released on Friday 7th September 1998 on Elektra Records, ‘… And Justice For All’ was met with critical acclaim upon release and has gone on to achieve Platinum status in the UK and shift over 8million units Stateside.
It was the first Metallica album to feature bassist Jason Newstead, following the death of Cliff Burton two years earlier, and it spawned anthems including ‘One’, ‘Eye of the Beholder’ and ‘Harvester of Sorrow’.
Metallica will announce a summer 2019 European stadium tour before the end of the month.
