Watch Mason Hill’s 'Hold On' video directed by Dan Reed
Fast-ascending Scottish rockers Mason Hill have premiered their ‘Hold On’ video exclusively on Planet Rock.
Penned by frontman Scott Taylor and lead guitarist James Bird, ‘Hold On’ is Mason Hill’s first new song in two years and doesn’t disappoint. Propelled by a meaty, chugging riff, it’s a potent rock anthem of the highest calibre that’s custom-built for cavernous venues.
Recorded at Riverside Studios near Mason Hill’s native Glasgow, ‘Hold On’ was mixed by Brian Sperber of Electric Lady Studio in New York (Ozzy Osbourne, Alter Bridge, Patti Smith) and is the first tantalising taster of Mason Hill’s new album, which will land in 2019.
The accompanying ‘Hold On’ video - which you can watch 24-hours before anyone else below - was co-directed by a certain Dan Reed of Dan Reed Network fame who Mason Hill will be touring with this autumn.
Scott Taylor says of ‘Hold On’: “We are acutely aware of the demand from fans for new material. We know it’s overdue, the fans want it, the band want it, and we will be driving forward in 2019.
“We’re thrilled that Brian Sperber has agreed to work with us on the single and we couldn’t be more excited about how the track sounds. It’s total, balls-out Mason Hill!”
Self-released by the band, ‘Hold On’ will be available to download digitally from Friday 9th November.
Fans can hear it live when Mason Hill kick off their tour supporting Dan Reed Network at Bilston The Robin 2 on Wednesday 7th November. Tickets to select dates are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
Undoubtedly one of the zeniths of last year’s Planet Rockstock, Mason Hill will play the Main Stage at our sold out Trecco Bay extravaganza on Saturday 1st December.

The ‘Hold On’ lyrics are as follows:
Wake up, wake up
Did you really think I’d disappear
You can’t trouble me
I’m breaking all the rules
I can set you free
Just let me know
Can you hear my voice
Just follow the sound and hold on
Can you make the choice
To listen to me
Listen to me and hold on
Stand up, stand up
I can see you’re tryna hide yourself
You can’t trouble me
I’m breaking all the rules
I can set you free
Just let me know
Can you hear my voice
Just follow the sound and hold on
Can you make the choice
To listen to me
Listen to me and hold on
I’m asking you to hold on
I’m asking you to hold on
I think they know we can do this
A second chance to be away from all of this poison
Hold on
Hold on
Can you hear my voice
Just follow the sound and hold on
Can you make the choice
To listen to me
Listen to me and hold on
