Due to Alan’s ongoing vocal cord issues, the Scottish blues rockers have had to postpone two tours in the past 18 months, including October 2017’s tour, which was rearranged for last month.

Asked by Paul how his vocal cords are holding up, Alan said: “Yeah, we had a few problems but y’know, with the right amount of time – eventually when I took the right amount of time to recover properly (it was ok) and as long as I take care of myself and not party with you guys too much I’m alright.

“I’m ok. It’s been a tough slog but every day gets… it’s just one day at a time and every day gets better and better so fingers crossed it stays that way.”

Alan went on to joke that he holds a certain Planet Rock DJ accountable for his ongoing troubles, saying: “I remember having a conversation with Danny Bowes from Thunder and I said it’s your fault.

"And he said ‘what was my fault?’ and I said well it’s yours and Paul Rodgers’ fault because I’ve been trying to sing like both of you for years and you make it look so easy, and now I’ve discovered it’s not. (Danny) blamed Paul Rodgers himself.”

You can watch the full chat with Alan below where he talks about how it was a dream to perform at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and King King’s packed 2018 schedule.
