Watch Guns n' Roses perform with AC/DC's Angus Young
Axl Rose joined forces with his new band mate at Coachella Festival in California.
Just hours before AC/DC broke the seismic news that Axl Rose is standing in for Brian Johnson, Angus Young guest performed with Guns n’ Roses at Coachella Festival on Saturday night (16th April).
Wearing his trademark school uniform, Young performed two AC/DC classics – ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ and ‘Riff Raff’ – alongside Axl, Slash, Duff McKagan and co. during their headline set in the Californian desert.
Unbeknown to the crowd, the performance served as a taster for Axl Rose’s upcoming shows fronting AC/DC in North America and Europe.
After weeks of speculation, AC/DC released a statement on Sunday morning confirming that Axl will stand in for the ailing Brian Johnson on all their scheduled 2016 shows.
These include their UK dates at London Olympic Stadium on 4th June and Manchester Etihad Stadium on 9th June.
They said: “AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures.
“As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian's decision to stop touring and save his hearing.
“We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment.”
