Just over half way through their sprawling 24-song set at Fenway Park, Dave Grohl and co. brought out their good friend Joe Walsh to perform a version of his 1973 anthem ‘Rocky Mountain Way’.

You can watch fan-filmed footage of Foo Fighters and Joe Walsh’s collaboration here:

The gig was the second of two sold-out shows at the 37,000-capacity baseball stadium in Boston.

Alluding to the torrential weather, Foo Fighters wrote on Twitter after the show: “Night 2!! Thanks for rocking with us rain or shine!”

Joe Walsh plays a trio of North American dates with the Eagles this week before the tour reconvenes in September and continues through to November.

He previously collaborated with Foo Fighters on their track ‘Outside’, which appeared on their eighth studio album ‘Sonic Highways’ and its accompanying HBO TV show.
