Last summer, Japanese schoolkid Yoyoka Soma hit headlines across the globe when her astounding performance of Led Zeppelin's 'Good Times Bad Times' went viral online.

Invited back onto The Ellen Show this week following an appearance in 2018, Soma told Ellen DeGeneres, via a translator, that Dave Grohl is her favourite drummer because of his “really heavy groove”.

Soma, who has been drumming since the age of two, later got behind her kit to show her considerable skills drumming along to the 2007 Foo Fighters track ‘The Pretender’.

Following the performance, DeGeneres surprised Somo by sharing a video message from Dave himself, where he tells her: “Hey Yoyoka, this is Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters. I’ve seen you play ‘The Pretender’ before and you’re amazing! So keep it up, the world needs more drummers.”

Last July, Robert Plant told CBC radio program Q that late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham would have been impressed by the then 8-year-old musician.

"I think he would be so amazed," Percy said. "I think he would be so chuffed. It's great."
