Watch Dave Grohl sing 'My Hero' with Swedish medic who treated his broken leg

During Foo Fighters’ headline set at Lollapalooza Stockholm over the weekend, Dave Grohl sang ‘My Hero’ with the medic who treated his broken leg in Sweden four years ago.

A few songs into Foo Fighters’ show at Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg back in June 2015, Dave miscalculated a jump onto a ramp and fell into the security pit, breaking his leg.

With Dr. Johan Sampson tending to his injury on stage, heroically Dave somehow managed to complete Foo Fighters’ set.

Last year’s gig at the Ullevi stadium saw Foo Fighters hilariously parody the fall with the aid of a stuntman dressed as Dave Grohl, and they also invited Dr. Johan onstage during the set.

Performing ‘My Hero’ nine songs into their headline show at Lollapalooza Stockholm last Saturday (29th June), Dave spotted Dr. Johan in the audience and beckoned to the crowd “There he is! Sing it to him!”

With tens of thousands of fans singing ‘My Hero’ in unison, Dr. Johan rightfully lapped up the adulation before crowd-surfing to the front.

Embracing Dave on stage, Dr Johan then proceeded to sing “There goes my hero / Watch him as he goes” alongside the Foo Fighters frontman during the song's rousing finale.
