Watch: Dave Grohl invites crying Foo Fighters fan on stage, sings 'My Hero' to him
"I'm gonna sing this to your crying grown-man ass."
During a Foo Fighters gig in Colorado at the weekend, Dave Grohl spotted an emotional fan in the audience just as he was beginning a speech in the middle of an acoustic rendition of 'My Hero'.
In footage from the night, the Foos man can of course be seen abandoning the speech in favour of jokingly teasing the fan, saying, "Don't cry m* f*. I know you're drunk, don't cry. Are you crying right now? You're f** crying right now aren't you? I love you man, look at you. Holy s. You know what? F that speech I was just going to make, I'm going to sing this s*** to you, right now!"
He then instructs the man (who we learn is called Anthony and might have had a drink or two) to get to the front row, telling him, "I'm gonna sing this to your crying grown-man ass," before telling security, "He's a grown man crying, you can bring him up here".
Once Anthony appears on stage, Grohl; broken leg still in a cast, gives him his seat and sings the rest of the song to him. Dave finishes by saying "Nice to meet you Anthony," before adding, "Get the f* off my stage m*** f*."
