WATCH: Black Star Riders’ Ricky Warwick passionately extols the virtues of rock and roll

In our exclusive Planet Rock video clip, Ricky was asked the simple question - will rock and roll ever die?

Enthusiastic in his response, the Northern Irish vocalist said: “Rock n’ Roll will never die because people need it and people want it.

“It’s a culture thing, it’s an escapism, it’s something to enhance your mood, it’s something to make you happy, something to make you sad, it’s something to turn to when everything else is going to s***, it’s something to hold on to, something to give you belief, it’s something to fire your soul, stimulate imagination, transcend you to a different place inside your head and your mind.”

Ricky continued: “It’s the answer to a lot of questions. A lot of people say that rock and roll can’t change the world – it absolutely can and it absolutely has and it will continue to do so. People will always want rock and roll, more so than a lot of other things in life. The truth.”

Black Star Riders play the Planet Rock Main Stage at Ramblin’ Man Fair on Saturday 29th July sharing a bill that boasts Dokken, Glenn Hughes, Reef, British Lion, Toseland, JJ Nichols and headliners Extreme.

Also performing at Ramblin’ Man Fair across its three days are Saxon, Y&T, ZZ Top, UFO, Monster Truck, Magnum, Focus, Last In Line, Rival Sons, Scorpion Child, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Martin Turner, Joanne Shaw Taylor and many more.

Ramblin’ Man Fair takes place in the stunning surroundings of Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th July 2017.
