WATCH: Black Sabbath share trailer for The End of The End

The Dick Carruthers (Led Zeppelin ‘Celebration Day’, The Rolling Stones ‘Bridges To Babylon’) directed film documents the band’s triumphant swansong show at the 16,000 capacity Birmingham Genting Arena on 4th February 2017.

It will be shown at cinemas across the globe for one night only on Thursday 28th September, with tickets on sale via this official website.

As the tantalising 31-second clip shows, the film boasts footage of the heavy metal torchbearers in their imperious live glory together with behind-the-scenes clips and intimate personal anecdotes.

Black Sabbath said in a statement: “To bring it all back home after all these years was pretty special. It was so hard to say goodbye to the fans who have been incredibly loyal to us through the years.

"We never dreamed in the early days that we’d be here 49 years later doing our last show on our home turf."

In an interview with Planet Rock’s very own Wyatt back in February, Tony Iommi said that there still could be Black Sabbath activity in future.

“I like (playing on stage) and I’m sure it’s not going to end like that; I’m sure we might do a one-off show somewhere,” Tony said.

“It’s just the touring for me – it’s time to stop roaming the world and be at home for a bit... I’m still going to write and put stuff out.”

Quizzed as to whether Sabbath’s recording days are over, Tony added: “No, I don’t think we’ve ruled anything out apart from me not wanting to tour any more on that scale, but who knows, we may do something.

“We haven’t spoken about it - that’s another thing we haven’t talked about anything really that’s to do with what’s going to happen afterwards. But I’m sure something can happen somewhere.”
