WATCH: Black Country Communion premiere 'Making Of BCCIV' series

Black Country Communion have shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of their new album.

Seemingly the first episode of a series on the Mascot Label Group YouTube channel, the video features interview footage with Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes and Jason Bonham, as well as footage of the band recording their new album 'BCCIV'.

During the video, Bonham reveals that he was the last to respond to Bonamassa's suggestion of getting the band back together. "I think I waited a good 36 hours before I actually replied," he says "just because that's my inside joke of always being late. I'm never on time, and for a drummer that has bad time... it just shouldn't happen."

Elsewhere in the episode, Bonamassa says that he was hoping to feel "exhausted but joyous" at the end of their seven-day studio session. He also recalls making the decision to reform the band in the middle of the night in Dusseldorf, saying "I did it because I missed it and I missed those guys. I missed the laughs, I missed the camaraderie and I missed the music."

'BCCIV' is Black Country Communion's fourth studio album, and their first in five years. It follows 2013’s acclaimed ‘Afterglow’, and just like the band’s first three records, was produced by “unofficial fifth member” Kevin ‘The Caveman’ Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith) and recorded at Cave Studios in Los Angeles in December 2016. Additional mixing was done at Cave Studios in Sydney in March 2017.

Set for release on Friday 22nd September on CD, 180 gram vinyl and as a digital download, the ‘BCCIV’ track-listing is as follows:

2. Over My Head
3. The Last Song For My Resting Place
