The first of three Bedtime Stories Josh has recorded for CBeebies will see him read Zog - the story of an accident-prone dragon who vies to win a gold star with the help of a princess who dreams of being a doctor, written by best-selling author Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Alex Scheffler.

Ahead of its air date at 6.50pm next Friday (6th October), the BBC has premiered a 23-second clip this morning.

After reading Zog, in the clip Josh turns to the camera with his toy dragon Snoop-Bob Meatball – named after his and wife Brody Dalle’s beloved Staffordshire terrier dog – and wishes the children a good night’s sleep.

Josh says: “Now even dragons need to rest, so it’s time for Snoop-Bob Meatball to go to sleep and you too. So snuggle up and dream of faraway places and I’ll see you soon for another bedtime story. Night Night!”
