W.A.S.P. announce 'The Crimson Idol' 25th anniversary UK tour
To celebrate the quarter of a century landmark of their fifth studio album ‘The Crimson Idol’, W.A.S.P. are hitting the road in 2017.
Alongside the October live shows, W.A.S.P. will be releasing a newly re-recorded version of concept record alongside a 50-minute DVD film of the whole story.
As a unique treat for fans, the Los Angeles glam metallers’ Reidolized Tour will see them perform the album in its entirety – while backed by the new film – together with a second set featuring anthems from their back catalogue.
Tickets to the tour go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 9am and 11am (depending upon the show) on Wednesday 25th January.
Written and produced by Blackie Lawless originally as a solo album but eventually released under the W.A.S.P. moniker, ‘The Crimson Idol’ depicts the rise and fall of a fictional rocker called Jonathan Steel.
In a post on their official Facebook page, the band have dubbed it as a “classic that stands the test of that quarter-century, and was heralded at the time by both critics and fans alike.”
