Volcano Scuppers Francis Rossi Planet Rock Show

Quo man was supposed to be recording series for us this week

Thanks to the ongoing travel chaos caused by tonnes of volcanic ash in the air a proposed new series presented by Francis Rossi on Planet Rock has been scuppered.

The Status Quo frontman was due to head into the studio this Thursday, his only day free from touring commitments, to record a three part series for us about his amazing career and his favourite music, but thanks to the "act of God” (as travel insurance companies like to gleefully call it) the series will now have to be postponed as Francis and his Quo bandmates are stuck in Russia.

Instead of recording the show for Planet Rock Francis will be on a train on a 24 hour journey to Poland, from where he and his bandmates will be treated to a long car journey and then a ferry home – arriving back in the UK a week later than planned.

We haven’t got a fixed date on when the Francis Rossi show will now be recorded, but it should be some time later in the year.

Meanwhile, you can catch Francis on his forthcoming solo tour of the UK, which is in support of his second solo album – One Step At A Time – which is released on 3 May.
