Vivian Campbell to only miss two Def Leppard shows
The guitarist's cancer treatmeant will happen around gig dates.
Campbell was first diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphona in 2013. He announced he was in remission in November of that year, but recently revealed that further treatment would be required.
He has now announced in a Facebook post however that doctors are scheduling an alternative course of treatment, which will allow him to fulfil the majority of his Def Leppard touring commitments.
Vivian wrote in the post:
"So, so happy to report that I've dodged the bullet of radiation. I was due to start a course that would have sidelined me for most of the first leg of the US tour, but my brilliant doctors have steered me towards an alternative course of treatment that will enable me to rejoin the tour this Saturday night in Birmingham Alabama. Furthermore, they've tailored future treatments to accommodate the tour schedule so I won't have to miss any more shows.
I'm so happy and so indebted to the wonderful physicians who have worked so hard on my behalf to make this happen.
See you Saturday!"
Def Leppard's North American tour starts tonight in Flordia. They're set to return to the UK at the end of the year with Whitesnake for a run that begins in Belfast on December 7th and finishes in Sheffield on December 12th.
