Velvet Revolver DID Record With Corey Taylor

But he may still not front the band

Bassist Duff McKagan has revealed that Velvet Revolver recorded some tracks with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor  at the beginning of the year but that the collaboration may not lead to anything.

He tells MusicRadar: "We recorded a bunch of songs with Corey. I think he’s fucking great – he’s the best voice of a new generation, the best rock’n'roll voice out there. He’s got a lot of positive energy and I’d be proud to do anything with him.

"Whether he’s in Velvet Revolver or not? The truth is, I can’t see Velvet Revolver happening until fall, maybe. Slash is touring, I’m just starting to tour – we’ll just have to see. I don’t have an answer."

The VR camp has gone very quiet since the start of 2011 after Matt Sorum, Slash and Duff all suggested that the band were close to naming the replacement for Scott Weiland who left in 2008.
