Van Halen Comeback Festival Cancelled
Australia\'s touring Soundwave Revolution fest is axed
The band had been confirmed to play at the festival, which was due to take place in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth at the end of next month. However, organisers have decided to cancel the festival after they failed to book a co-headliner.
Rumours about the cancellation were first circulated after Steel Panther revealed that they had been told the festival was off, but later the news was confirmed by organisers on their forum.
Later one of the organisers revealed to Nova that a co-headliner for the next announcement "had to pull out" and "we didn't want to go with an incomplete line-up".
What that means is that we're going to have to wait for a little bit longer before we see Van Halen outside North America - by our reckoning they haven't toured outside the US and Canada since the ill-fated III tour in 1998.
