The band really don\'t like comedy cover version

In an interview with The Sun, comedian Ricky Gervais revealed that his comedy side-kick Karl Pilkington had to perform the song as part of a challenge on his new show An Idiot Abroad - The Bucket List.

The show features Pilkington taking part in a series of challenges set by Gervais and writing partner Stephen Merchant based on things you should do before you die. One of the challenges includes a "Glee" style chorus club performing the Van Halen song.

However, the performance won't be seen in the US after the band banned the use of it in the show.

Ricky said Karl was shaking before the performance and messed up the words.

Gervais revealed "Van Halen are trying to put a stop on it, because it is that bad. But Sky have got a blanket agreement so we can put it out in England.

"But we can't put it out in America or on the DVD."

The series premieres on 23 September.
