Van Halen Announce First International Reunion Dates
Band to play shows in Australia later this year
Some rather exciting news for Van Halen fans - the band will be digging out their passports and leaving North America on tour for the first time in more than a decade (the last time they played multiple shows outside North America seems to have been in 1998 on the ill-fated III tour with Gary Cherone as frontman).
The band have been named as headliners on the Soundwave Revolution touring festival in Australia in September and October, where they will play five shows. The gigs will be the first time the band have ever played in Australia with Dave Lee Roth as a frontman.
Here's the dates:
Brisbane - September 24
Sydney - September 25
Melbourne - September 30
Adelaide - October 1
Perth - October 3
Reports suggest that the band's new studio album is progressing well, and should be released later this year. According to US DJ Eddie Trunk in March, the album was in its mixing stages.
Stay tuned for more news on any further dates or album info.
