U2's Spiderman Breaks Broadway Records

Despite a \"troubled\" start the band\'s musical is raking it in

Gigwise reports that the U2 scored Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark has broken Broadway records to become the highest single-week gross of any show in Broadway history. 

The musical grossed almost $3m over nine performances last week, which has broken the previous record held by Wicked, which grossed $2.2 million (£1.4 million) over eight shows in 2011. 

Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark is rumoured to be the most expensive musical in history, costing an estimated $70 million (£48 million).
