Speaking to Metro, frontman Bono suggested that the band would be taking a well earned break following the end of their record obliterating 360 tour.

He revealed that the band would be taking a lengthy break and that they wouldn't be back "for a while."

And in a separate interview with Stereogum Bono also revealed that there would be an Achtung Baby tribute album on the way.

He revealed that Jack White would be tackling 'Love Is Blindness' while Depeche Mode (doing 'So Cruel'), Patti Smith (doing 'Until the End of the World') and Damien Rice (doing 'One') would also appear.

U2's Achtung Baby is released as a deluxe 20th Anniversary edition on 31 October.
