U2 To Premiere Achtung Doc In Toronto
New film to be released to celebrate 20th anniversary of Achtung Baby
Rolling Stone reports that From the Sky Down, a new documentary about the making of U2's 1991 classic Achtung Baby by filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, is set to premiere with a gala screening at the Toronto International Film Festival on 8 September.
Guggenheim, the director of An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman and, of course, It Might Get Loud, compiled the film from archival footage of the band recording the album at Hansa studio in Berlin and he conducted brand new interviews with the band.
The release of the film coincides with the reissue of an expanded version of Achtung Baby, which celebrates its 20th birthday in November.
