U2 Break Tour Record
The 360 tour is now the most successful EVER tour, beating the Rolling Stones\' seemingly unbeatable record
U2's current worldwide 360° tour has become the highest grossing tour in history, beating the record previously set by The Rolling Stones on their Bigger Bang tour in 2005-7.
The Irish rockers' tour passed the $558 million (£341m) world record following their concert in Sao Paolo, Brazil last night (10 April), and with more than 25 shows left on the tour it's looking likley that they'll easily break the $600m mark before they are done..
More than seven million tickets have been sold for their 110 shows. According to Billboard Boxscore, on average U2's 360° Tour packs out 63,000 people at each show, taking $6.4 million (£3.9 million).
The final date is 30 July 2011 at the Magnetic Music Hill Musical Festival in Moncton, Canada.
The band play at Glastonbury Festival on Friday 24 June.
