U2 Album Confirmed For May

Band\'s manager reveals that the band are putting finishing touches to the record.

U2's manager Paul McGuinness has confirmed the band ARE releasing a brand new album in May.

Speaking at a music conference in France, he revealed the record's "largely completed", but the band are putting the finishing touches to it at the moment.

Paul says it will be out in time for U2's North American tour which kicks off in Denver, Colorado on May 21st.

In other U2 news a concert in South Africa on 13 February is under threat after thieves stole cables at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg

Officials believe that the power cables have been stolen in the surrounding area, causing damage to generators and other equipment at the venue.

Associated Press reports that a national soccer league game had to be cancelled on Saturday- 5th February 2011 to allow for repairs to be made ahead of the U2 show
