Tyler To Appear On ZZ Top Tribute Record
Plus watch the Aerosmith frontman rock out on drums
Steven Tyler is to appear on a new ZZ Top tribute album, it has been revealed.
The news comes via Mick Fleetwood, who also plays on the album, and indeed on the track that Tyler sings on.
"Steven and Johnny Lang and John McVie and I are doing a track on a new tribute album for ZZ Top," Mick tells the Maui News. "We all got together and we had a ball."
Fleetwood was speaking following a Camp Freddy show in LA a couple of weeks ago (Camp Freddy are the jam band made up of a rolling roster of various rock luminaries who play in and around LA).
Tyler joined CF for four tracks, kicking off by playing drums on the surf-rock classic, "Wipeout." Mick Fleetwood popped behind the drum kit next as Tyler moved to centre stage for the Fleetwood Mac track, "Rattlesnake Shake." Then, Tyler and band jammed the Aerosmith classic, "Sweet Emotion," before closing out the show with Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love."
As for the CF experience, Fleetwood said, "Steven is a really good drummer. He came on and played 'Wipeout' and kicked the hell out of it."
