Tyler Says Aerosmith Sales Soared Since Idol Gig Started
The singer says his talent show is helping the band
In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Tyler talked about taking on the role of American Idol judge.
"Last season it wasn’t really accepted up front with the rock community, mostly from my own bandmates because they didn’t know what was going on with the Aerosmith thing at the end. But it’s brought younger kids to our music anyway,” said Steven, noting Aerosmith sales last year were up 260 percent.
Tyler will return to the judging panel for another series of Idol later this year, following a summer tour with Aerosmith (and hopefully the release of that new album).
