Tull's Martin Barre To Take Rarities On The Road

The guitarist reveals plans for a \"lost\" songs tour

Barre has revealed to Ultimate Classic Rock that he is currently assembling a band, which will include Tull alumni, which will tour a set of rarely played songs from the band's huge back catalogue.

"I want to play some of the songs that we haven’t done in a very long time,” Barre tells Ultimate Classic Rock. "I really am not tired of playing those songs. I enjoy them.”

He intends to recruit a vocalist for the tour, but not one that will simply imitate Ian Anderson.

"You can’t imitate Ian’s vocals,” said Barre, who also plays flute and will presumably fill in on some of the parts Anderson would normally play on various songs. "I want something that’s really very different.

"I promise you a great show,” he said. "I am very excited and extremely enthusiastic!”

The tour is expected to be announced in the coming months.
