Trent Reznor Works On New Music Streaming Business

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor is keeping himself busy. As well as writing film scores and working on new material for the band, he’s also revealed that he’s in the process of developing a new music streaming process with Dr. Dre. 

The idea is to help users sort their music collections more efficiently than provisions offered by services such as Spotify. The project is currently titled ‘Daisy’. 

He told the New Yorker, "'Here's 16 million licensed pieces of music,' they've said, but you're not stumbling into anything. What's missing is a system that adds a layer of intelligent curation . . . As great as it is to have all this information bombarding you, there's a real value in trusted filters. It's like having your own guy when you go into the record store, who knows what you like but can also point you down some paths you wouldn't necessarily have encountered."

Meanwhile, there’s a new Nine Inch Nails ‘best of’ due in 2014 for which Reznor is working on two new tracks. He’s also contributing to the new Queens of the Stone Age album and writing the soundtrack to the video game ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’.
