Tool fan doesn't realise man taking his photo is Eddie Van Halen
Eddie Van Halen attended Tool’s concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday night (21st October) and his son and band mate Wolfgang shared a hilarious moment on social media.
Taken by Wolfgang, the picture depicts Eddie Van Halen taking a photo of a fan following the conclusion of the Tool concert with the stage in the background. The fan is seemingly oblivious that the man taking his picture is a Van Halen legend.
“A guy asked my dad if he could take a picture of him with the stage behind him,” Wolfgang wrote on Instagram and Twitter, “having no idea who he just asked, and that was my favourite moment from the Tool show last night.”

Eddie Van Halen’s rare public appearance on Monday followed totally unconfirmed reports on celebrity gossip site TMZ that he’s been travelling to Germany for throat cancer treatment over the past five years.
Despite the claims being widely reported in the media, it’s important to note that Eddie Van Halen and the Van Halen camp haven’t commented on their legitimacy.
Van Halen have remained inactive since their last show at the Hollywood Bowl almost exactly four years ago in October 2015.
In an interview with Detroit radio station WRIF earlier this month, Van Halen singer David Lee Roth said the band are “finished.”
Asked if he was “bummed out” that Van Halen’s proposed reunion tour got axed at the eleventh hour this past summer, Roth replied: "That's been cancelled a number of times, and I think Van Halen's finished and this is the next phase.
“I've inherited the band de facto — whatever that means. I think it means if you inherit it, carry this proudly. Van Halen isn't gonna be coming back in the fashion that you know. And that being said, Eddie's (Van Halen) got his own story to tell. (It's) not mine to tell it."
Roth let slip in December 2018 that Van Halen had tapped Metallica, Foo Fighters and Guns N’ Roses for a huge show that was “just around the corner.” The ambitious plans, of course, never happened.
