Here's a bit of blurb about the book:
"Tony Iommi - and I have said this a zillion times - should be up there with the greats. He can pick up a guitar, play a riff, and you say, 'He's gotta be out now, he can't top that.' Then you come back, and I bet you a billion dollars, he'd come up with a riff that'd knock your fucking socks off"
Ozzy Osbourne
"Tony Iommi is the true father of Heavy Metal, a continuously creative genius riff-meister, and one of the world's great human beings'"Brian May
"Without Tony, heavy metal wouldn't exist. He is the creator of heavy! Tony is a legend. He took rock and roll and turned it into heavy metal" Eddie Van Halen
Tony Iommi, rock guitarist and Black Sabbath legend invented the heavy metal sound that changed rock music forever...
From working class, Midlands roots, Tony Iommi's unique playing style - a result of a disfiguring hand injury he suffered working in a sheet metal factory ¬- created a dark and gothic sound unlike anything that had been heard before and which captured the mood of its time, spawning generations of devoted fans. Sabbath went on to become a super band, playing to massive audiences around the world and selling millions of records, and Iommi led the life of a rockstar to the fullest - with the scars from all the nights of wild excess to show for it.
In Iron Man, Iommi goes on the record about Black Sabbath and recounts his life story in detail and depth - including his inspired but complex relationship with Sabbath's lead singer, Ozzy Ozbourne.
Iron Man is the exclusive account of the life and adventures of one of rock's greatest heroes.
