Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers announce rare UK show
As part of their 40th anniversary celebrations, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are coming to the UK in 2017.
The American rock icons will headline British Summer Time Hyde Park on Sunday 9th July in what will be their only European gig of the year.
It’s their first show in the UK in five years following their rapturously received Isle of Wight Festival headline performance and two Royal Albert Hall gigs in 2012.
Tom will be joined by his friend, tour mate and collaborator, Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks, at the very special show. Also on the bill are indie folk act The Lumineers.
James King, Senior Vice President, AEG Live enthuses: “Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park prides itself on delivering something magical and unique every year and Sunday July 9th is truly a ‘one night only’ experience direct from the music gods.
“Tom Petty’s UK fans will feel blessed to see him and the Heartbreakers in such a rare appearance in this country. Celebrating their 40th anniversary with them is their friend and true icon Stevie Nicks. Music does not get better than this.”
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers join the previously announced British Summer Time Hyde Park headliners Green Day, Kings of Leon and Phil Collins.
Tickets for Tom Petty go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 9am on Friday 16th December.
