Speaking of the exciting exhibition Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne said: “It’s an honour to be a part of the Home of Metal. I am just a guy from Birmingham who’s been blessed to have had such dedicated fans throughout my career. Like I’ve always said ‘I am nothing without them.”

The band's guitarist Tony Iommi says: "Fans are our lifeblood, they've always been there to support us.”

The Home of Metal project is billed as a celebration of the heavy music that was born in Birmingham, and the official website features a digital archive of fan memorabilia and stories and a fans gallery.

Their exhibitions and events are billed as joining “the dots between music, social history, visual art and fan cultures to produce a new perspective on Heavy Metal.”
