Tickets "Not A Rip-Off" Says Jagger
Singer insists that Stones' tickets are not 'too expensive'.
Many longtime fans of the Rolling Stones have been dismayed with the cost of ticket prices for the group's upcoming dates at London's O2 Arena. Prices for low-quality seating start at around £106, standard seating clocks in at around £406, with VIP options pushing the £1000 mark.
Mick Jagger told Billboard: "You might say, ‘the tickets are too expensive.’ Well, it’s a very expensive show to put on, just four shows – because normally you do a hundred shows and you’d have the same expenses...Most of the tickets go for a higher price than we’ve sold them for, so you can see the market is there. We don’t participate in that profit. If a ticket costs £250 and goes for £1000, I want to point out that we don’t get that difference.”
Despite Jagger's lamenting the costs of staging, guitarist Keith Richards has stated that fans can expect a "stripped down performance" in order to really see the members of the band, insisting that "it's going to be fun."
There have been rumours that former Stones members Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman could be making an appearance at the show.
