Thunder To Perform With Stand-in Guitarist At Calling Festival
Ben Matthews will miss the show due to tonsillitis.
Thunder have announced that they will perform without guitarist/keyboard player Ben Matthews at Calling Festival this weekend, while he recovers from having his tonsils removed.
The band reassured fans, in a message posted on their Facebook page, that they will still be performing at Clapham Common on Saturday thanks to stand-in guitarist Peter Shoulder.

_"We have some rather important news to impart.
Following a period of discomfort, Ben has had to have his tonsils removed. He is unable to go out or sing, so he cannot do the show on Saturday at Clapham.
Rather than cancel, the band has asked our good friend Peter Shoulder to play guitar, and he has agreed to step in. Hurrah!
Ben is currently advising Pete (via text) on both hair tips and shape chucking. In return Pete has agreed not to sing and play too well…
This will be the second time a Thunder band member has been replaced for a live show: - You may recall John Tonks stepped in for Harry at Exeter University in Oct 2008, when he had to have an emergency kidney stone operation on the day the "Bang" tour started.

Calling Festival takes places on the 28th and 29th June at Clapham Common, London. Aerosmith will headline the Saturday night with Joe Bonamassa, Thunder, Richie Sambora, Walking Papers, Heaven's Basement, Toseland, Tax The Heat and more also appearing.
