Dubbed A Tale of Two Cities, the annual Yuletide bash will see Danny, Luke, Ben, Chris and Harry play Birmingham O2 Academy on Friday 20th December and Manchester Academy the following night.

Both of the special shows be split in two parts in keeping with the band’s now traditional festive format – there will be a sit-down acoustic performance followed by a full rip-roaring electric set.

Thunder have vowed that the wide-ranging setlist will feature an eclectic festive selection box of hits, rarities and covers. Nice.

Planet Rock’s very own Danny Bowes enthuses: “The Thunder Xmas Shows have become a highlight of the year for both the band and the fans and we’re delighted to be making two stops this year. It’s a brilliant way to round off the year and we can’t wait.

“If you want to join us then please don’t hang about as the tickets always fly out for these shows and if you miss out Yule be sorry. And, yes, that’s enough of that nonsense.”

Explaining why they’ve picked Birmingham and Manchester, Thunder said: “We can’t play everywhere, and we don’t think it’s fair to ask folk to travel from one end of the country to the other, so these venues were chosen because they’re both centrally located.”

Guaranteed to fly fast, the limited VIP tickets will go on sale from Thunder’s official website at 10am on Tuesday 28th May with general sale following at Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Friday 31st May.
