Thunder announce eleventh studio album ‘Rip It Up’

The mighty Thunder have announced details of their eleventh studio album.

Published 7th Dec 2016

Titled ‘Rip It Up’, the follow-up to 2015’s incredible ‘Wonder Days’ boasts 11 tracks penned by Luke Morley and is released on Friday 10th February 2017.

In a post on their official Facebook page, Thunder said that the album was recorded with Nick Brine over three separate sessions in March, June and August at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth.

On mixing duties the band drafted in Clint Murphy at Modern World, while Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound mastered it in New York City.

The eye-catching artwork is the creation of Norwegian artist Magnus Gjoen whose works ‘focus on how things are not always what they seem.’

Planet Rock’s Paul Anthony had the exclusive premiere of the album title track at 8.10am this morning. If you missed it, you can listen to the show again here.

You can pre-order ‘Rip It Up’ in a smorgasbord of formats  - including packages signed by the band - from Thunder’s official website now.
